What Creates Brand Recognition Instantly

This is an interesting question: why do some logos resonate while others don't? Is it due to price or performance? In reality, feelings create the "draw" of being familiar with name-brand products. An individual's motivation can be directly linked to what the company stands for. A company's personality may be perceived through colors and font style instead of words. An individual will make quick decisions based upon little detail such as the color of packaging or a logo, which then drives the individual to make little conscious decisions based on how they feel.

Companies that use values rather than simply meeting needs have created strong connections with consumers. When connection occurs as a result of meaning, it creates long-term customer loyalty.

The Root of All Decisions is Motivation

When you buy something, you create a new desire to get something else. Once you see there's something missing from your current siutation that you'll need to satisfy in the future, the original motivation to get it continues to fuel your search for what you're seeking.

Depending on the moment an individual has a need, that need is driven by how they feel internally. For example, someone may be search for confidence, clarity, achievement or simply the perception that they are moving forward in a positive direction.

You Choose Brands That Reflect Who You Are

The 3 main ways to identify impacts to our purchasing decisions are:

1. Actual self: How I currently perceive myself

2. Ideal self: Who I am striving to be

3. Perceived self image: The image i believe others see when they observe me

Most brands communicate via one level of identity of some type.

How people spend their time determines what messages will reach them. In most cases, people do not even realize that how they spend their time every single day, and what they believe in are the factors that dictate how advertisers can contact them. The number of minutes you allow yourself to be exposed to certain forms of advertising will be determined by how many hours you decide to devote to daily activities.

Brand Personality Gives Consumers a Personalized Experience

Researchers have found there are five major areas of brand personality:

1. Excitement: has creative ideas and is energetic

2. Sincerity: is down to earth and honest

3. Competence: is a leader and hardworking

4. Sophistication: is charming and upper class

5. Ruggedness: is tough

Eventually when you keep promoting a brand's voice, people get used to a certain message. It takes weeks or months but consistent branding starts to work really well. The message gains momentum until people start to trust it.
